SALVATION

Transformation begins within

Life is full of choices. Some are small, while others have the power to change the course of our lives. Choosing to follow Jesus is one of those life-changing decisions.  The good news is that salvation isn't about having all the answers.  It's not about becoming perfect overnight. There are no perfect people, except Jesus.
It's about choosing to place your trust in Jesus Christ and allowing Him to lead your life one day at a time.

Here's the truth:
Feelings come and go. Emotions change. Some days you'll feel close to God, and some days you may not.  Salvation is not built on a feeling; it's built on faith and a decision to trust Jesus.

Salvation begins with a choice, but it grows through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

What is Salvation?

Great question! Salvation is simply God's gift of forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life through Jesus Christ.  It is God's way of restoring our relationship with Him after sin separated us from Him.

The Bible teaches that every person has sinned and falls short of God's standard (Romans 3:23).  Because God loves us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and rise again so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life.

Salvation is not something we earn, but rather a gift that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ.

"God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it." (Ephesians 2:8-9, NLT)

What Salvation is Not?

Salvation is NOT:
  • Joining a church
  • Being a good person
  • Being baptized alone
  • Giving money to a church
  • Doing enough good works
  • Having a religious title or position
  • Being born into a Christian family

Granted, while these things may be important parts of a believer's journey, none of them can actually save us.  Salvation comes only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus clearly said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)

How Can I Be Saved?

The Process of Salvation

Recognize Your Need For God

Understand that everyone has sinned and needs forgiveness.
Romans 3:23"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Believe in Jesus Christ

Believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and rose again.
Romans 10:9 (ESV)"because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Repent

Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God. It is a change of heart that leads to a change of direction.
Acts 3:19  (NIV)"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."

Confess Jesus as Lord

Openly acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
Romans 10:10 (NLT)"For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.."

Receive God's Gift of Salvation

Place your faith in Jesus and receive the free gift of eternal life.
Romans 10:13 (NLT)"For Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

If you're ready to begin that journey today, pray this from your heart...

"Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I ask You to forgive me, lead my life, and help me follow You. Today, I place my faith and trust in You. Amen."
